We’re very excited to announce that CipherMode Labs was awarded the inaugural TROPT Privacy Tech Award given to leading privacy-tech startups! CipherMode was selected as one of eight winners and the only one to boast an open-source secure multiparty computation (SMPC) library that has been downloaded over 10,000 times.

This is a great validation of CipherMode’s direction, advancements in the field of privacy-enhancing technologies, and customer interest. Our aggressive roadmap will deliver on the promise of SMPC to be a world-changing technology in how data is accessed, shared, and used in a fully secure manner while enabling full data usability.

“This is an exciting award for CipherMode and further puts us into the category of privacy-enhancing technologies with real world applications. We’re grateful for TROPT for being included and look forward to showing the world what we can do over the coming years,” said Sadegh Riazi, co-founder and CEO of CipherMode.

HEAX: An Architecture for Computing on Encrypted Data

With the rapid increase in cloud computing, concerns surrounding data privacy, security, and confidentiality also have been increased significantly. Not only cloud providers are susceptible to internal and external hacks, but also in some scenarios, data owners cannot outsource the computation due to privacy laws such as GDPR, HIPAA, or CCPA. Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) is a groundbreaking invention in cryptography that, unlike traditional cryptosystems, enables computation on encrypted data without ever decrypting it.
